The Sickle Cell Anaemia Relief Foundation (SCARF) based in the United States of America has donated two laptops to the Sierra Leone Sickle Cell Society at their Thomas Street headquarters.
The presentation was done by Abdul Rahman Davies to the Programme Coordinator at the society, Mrs. Amelia Gabba on behalf of the founder of SCARF, Raymond Leslie Jarrett.
Presenting the two laptops, Abdul Rahman Davies observed that the ailment is one of those that had been neglected in the country, noting that many people belongs to the category but do not care whether to check the sickness.
He lamented that many organizations have turned blind eyes towards rendering the necessary assistance to the Sickle Cell Society and therefore implored all and sundry to come onboard so that positive strides can be achieved to help those affected by the illness.
Receiving the items, Mrs. Amelia Gabba lauded the efforts of Raymond Leslie Jarrett towards the organization and assured that the two laptops will be used to update the organization's database in its two branches.

Some of the patients this reporter spoke to recalled similar donations made to the society some two years ago in the form of $500 (500 United States Dollars) and prayed for the continuous gestures of the donors in alleviating their efforts to ameliorate the plight of patients.
