Sickle Cell Anemia Relief Foundation (SCARF). About Us

 

We're a charitable group that better improves lives.

In furtherance of the objectives of the Foundation, in view of the fact that the general welfare of the carriers of the Sickle Cell disease in America are inextricably linked with the welfare of the carriers of the Sickle Cell disease in Sierra Leone, and the rest of Africa, therefore; the objectives of the Foundation shall also include the following:

Our goals are encompassed around the following:
  • Create, stimulate and foster public awareness of Sickle Cell Anemia Disease in the USA, throughout Sierra Leone and elsewhere in the world; in particular.
  • Disseminate information about Sickle Cell Anemia Disease.
  • Advocate the care and support of sickle cell patients and their families.
  • Counsel sickle cell patients and their families.
  • Identify babies at risk of sickle cell by newborn screening.
  • Advocate pre-natal care/issues for pregnant women with the Sickle Cell Anemia Disease.
  • Promote medical and social research on sickle cell.

One of the long-term objectives of the Foundation is to encourage and support any university or college that includes research for the cure of this disease in their curricula. Therefore, in view of this, we shall encourage and support any university or college that includes research for the cure of this disease in their curricula.

We want to make a difference to the health, livelihood, welfare, & lives of sickle cell patients in the USA, throughout Sierra Leone and elsewhere in the world.
